Objective

In this lab, you will learn how to create a storage bucket on the Google Cloud Platform and upload objects to it using the GCP console.

Solution

Step 1: To start the lab, Choose the Start lab button and then choose Open lab. On the next page, a new tab will open up, showing the terms and conditions for the lab. Go through them thoroughly, agree to the terms and conditions, and select Continue.

You will be presented with access credentials to the GCP lab account, as shown in the following example. Open the GCP Portal Login link in a new private or Incognito window.

Upload objects

Step 8: One of the benefits of creating a storage bucket in GCP is that you can easily upload objects to it. First, if you have created multiple buckets, select the name of the bucket to which you want to upload the objects in the list of buckets.

Step 9: You can upload the objects using two different methods. In the Objects tab for the bucket, either:

  • You can drag and drop the desired files from your desktop or file manager directly to the main window in the console.

  • You can also click on the Upload Files button, select the files you want to upload in the tab that appears, and click on the Open option.
