Course Description
This course will cover all of the steps and strategies for successfully mastering both IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting for the CCNA candidate. IPv4 subnetting topics will cover the introductory concepts of subnetting such as address classes, binary to decimal – decimal to binary conversion, the subnet ID and broadcast address, classful vs. classless addressing, subnet masks, proper subnet size selection, and IPv4 addressing schemes. IPv6 topics will include the fundamentals of IPv6 addressing, IPv6 address format and conventions, IPv6 address types (Global, Link Local, Unique Local Unicast, etc.), prefix length conventions, subnetting at the nibble/bit boundary, and IPv6 address planning strategies.
